TACKERS RED

Coach’s Award - Riley Clarke
Again there were 10 or so that could have taken this one out. Riley got the
chocolates for a number of reasons. He probably played down back the
majority of the year and took most of our kick outs. He never complained
and did every job he was given without a word. He also listens, never
interrupts and trains the house down every Wednesday night. Not to
mention he had a great year also. When the ball did go down back, we felt
secure in the knowledge that Riley would stop the attack at the last line of
defence. The team would do well taking a leaf out of Riley’s book when they
train and play.

“Well done on a great year Riley and hope to see you next year”

Our Other Budding Champs

Michael Van Benten
Michael was another one of our talls that found himself in our spine every
game whether it be ruck, CHF, FF or CHB and he didn’t disappoint. He has
a great overhead mark and a strong body which made him perfect for these
positions. He kicked some great goals and stopped many too when down
back. I can see him being an integral part of our team in the years to come.
When he gets onto the ball, he can kick it a mile. I know he is a great
basketball player and that can only help his footy

Liam Furlong
Liam came close to most improved this year. His efforts in the ruck were
sensational and I can see him becoming a great “tap” ruck man next year
and beyond. He also provided us with a target when playing up forward.
“ Work on that drop punt over the break mate.”

Christian Nitsou

When Christian is on, he is on big time. He can match it with any in the
league depending on which Christian turns up, the hot or cold one. One
week he will dominate around the ground taking marks all over the park and
kicking goals from everywhere, but then go missing the next week.
“ Just need to work on your consistency and sky’s the limit for you.
