Craig Waldon

T
his award was started a few years
ago and was put in place to
recognise someone within the
club that is not normally a nominated
Committee member but has given
exceptional, timely and sound support
to the President over the year.
In 2012, the then President, determined to
break with tradition and to make this award to
a committee member as he believed that
person had served the club well beyond the
call of duty and in an exceptional manner.
Similarly, this year, I have decided to provide
this award to Craig Waldon as even though
he is a committee member, he does give the
club so much that his contribution simply
cannot be overlooked. So much of what he
does is outside the normal scope of a
committee person’s duties anyway.

As this will be Craig’s last year with the club it
would be an absolute travesty if he were to
leave us without some form of recognition and
appreciation for everything he has done for
the club and for me in particular.

Craig, I do not know how to thank you enough
for all your support and advice in dealing with
some tricky issues this year, your council has
made all the difference in allowing me to
ensure we as a club have done the right thing
by the kids and their families. Your support in
the merger of our Colts Team with Doncaster “he gives the club so much that
and your constant presence with the team as his contribution simply cannot be
trainer, confidant and councillor allowed us to
have an extremely successful year. overlooked.”

All I can say is “I know how much you do
behind the scenes.”
On behalf of the Committee and myself I thank
you for your contribution towards another
successful season.
“Congratulations Craig, your award is well
deserved.”
