TACKERS RED

While there is no scoring in Tackers, the boys
constantly reminded me that they’d only “lost”
one game for the year when we came up
against that same team in the rematch in the
third last game of the year. Canterbury were
that team and the game didn’t disappoint. We
were without one of our key players - Ollie
Purcell, but the boys were up to the challenge
and with only 30 seconds or so left, were in
the lead by 3 points. A great goal by
Canterbury with the wind got them home but
what a great effort by our boys.
I look forward to coaching the boys again in
under 10’s in 2015. If we can keep this group
of players together they will have some very
successful years ahead. Next year it gets a
little more competitive and I know the boys are
ready for it. They took our 2 losses very well
Tackers Red Coach – Ben Savage has overseen
tremendous improvement in the team’s skill this year. Remember it’s how well you take
level and is looking forward to competitive the losses, not the wins, that makes you better
football next season in the Under 10s person and a better team.
Thanks so much to all the parents who helped
out during the year. Coaching is the easy bit
compared to all the jobs that are done week
in, week out. Overall a great year for Tackers
Red. You boys are all a pleasure to coach.
See you next year and Go Falcons!

Tackers Red team Best & Fairest winner – Ollie
Purcell in his distinctive fluro boots. Ollie was
kept busy throughout the season playing for the
Tackers (where he obviously did really well) and
playing for the Under 11s where not only did he
hold his own, he was one of their better players.
