UNDER 10s RED

Our Other Junior Champions

Our five award winners wouldn't be able to receive their awards if it wasn’t for the players around
them - their team mates. Team mates make it possible to have success at both the team and
individual level and ultimately we can only win games with each of our players contributing.
On that basis I want to highlight each of our players and their unique contribution toward our team
this year.

Lily Woolhouse
Joined our team after round four and immediately fitted in like she’d played
100 games before. Running up and down the wings or tearing around the
forward line, Lily tackled, chased and occasionally got crunched but she
bounced back every time and kept going. By the end of the season Lily
was confidently winning the ball and supporting her teammates through
her shepherds and tackling.
“Well done Lily, it’s been a pleasure to have you a part of the team!”

Jessica Hurt
Broke the drought of girls playing footy at Greythorn and had an impact on
all of us. Jessica loved the thrill and the chase of footy and was not
worried one bit about tackling or being tackled by other players. In the
forward line Jessica became a ‘goal sneak’ and down back, a nagging
defender. Opposition players weren’t quite sure how to tackle Jess, which
turned out to be her advantage.
“Congratulations Jess for leading the way and being a much valued
member of the team!”

Thomas Hurt

Thomas is a hard working athlete that continues to prove that reward
comes from effort. His ‘never say die’ attitude and positive approach is
infectious and a welcomed feature of the team. Not only is he capable in
the contest he is a sportsman to be respected and a great example to
players and parents of the virtue of respecting others in all that you do.
“Tom, I love the way you balance your ‘good sport’ attitude with a fierce
determination to compete. It is a valuable quality that makes every team you
play in better for having you. Well done!”

Jesse Anderson

Jesse is a player whose skills and knowledge of the game improves every
week. Enthusiastic and dedicated to his development, Jesse is a great
team member capable of impacting the game at both ends of the ground.
This year we discovered his ability in the role of Full Back and were
delighted with his kicking and attack on the ball.
“Well done Jesse on another good year and I look forward to seeing what
further practice with Dad over the summer will bring for 2015. Go Dees, Go
Hawks!”
