UNDER 10s RED

Hamish Smart
Hamish is a versatile player who is passionate to be in the contest and help
his team to success. Hamish played key positions this season because of
his desire to win the ball and determination not to allow his opposition to. In
the ruck or at centre half back, Hamish proved to be a handful for his
opponent and an asset to his team-mates.

“Congratulations on your effort and on your development as a footballer
Hamish. You have been a pleasure to coach and I hope we can do it all
again next season!”

Gregory Kerdemelidis
Greg’s season got better and better every week. Few move across the
ground like Greg does. His balance and poise is outstanding and when he
gets the ball few can go with him. Quiet and unassuming, Greg goes about
his business with the application of a professional sportsman. I can’t wait to
see how Greg’s football develops over the years ahead and I won’t be
surprised one bit when the day comes where he busts a game wide open
with his running and use of the ball.

“Well done Greg….you’re a champ!”

Hugo Akse
Hugo is a player with enormous talent and the potential to become an elite
running player. This became evident toward the end of the season when
Hugo developed the confidence to run and carry the ball. He’s fast, agile
and was a major problem for Hawthorn Citz in our last game of the year
where Hugo broke the lines with his run.

“Build on this Hugo! You’ve started something special and now you have the
opportunity to build on it with practice over the summer. I can’t wait to see
what you will do in 6 months from now….Well done!”

Jonty Fewster
Jonty is another of our players with loads of potential. We had glimpses of
Jonty’s brilliance throughout the year when he played up forward kicking
goals and through the middle when he shut down key opposition players.
Jonty is a tough, hard competitor who becomes a major asset in a tight
contest. Off the field he is a lovable larrikin and a valued mate to his peers.

“Congrats on reaching even higher standards this year Jonty. You’ve
developed into a capable footballer and we’ve loved watching you succeed.
Well done!”

Joshua D’Ambrosio

Joshua is a footballer one can easily underestimate but quickly pay the price
for doing so. He’s fast, he’s agile and when he’s switched on, few can
match him. Josh is also a player whose development accelerated toward
the end of the season. It’s unfortunate in a way because Josh was just
starting to play some elite footy when the season came to an end.
“Keep taking on the game with your run and carry Josh. This is a standout
feature of your footy and a much-valued attribute by the team. Well done,
particularly on the way you finished off the year!”
