Senior Citizens are entitled to Health Benefits (Pharmaceutical) if their adjusted taxable income (ATI) is below the following:-

The new definition will mean some holders will cease to be eligible, because the new test gives a higher result – that is, adjusted taxable is higher than taxable income. There is no asset test.
The following examples of concessions you can get with the card. - Australian Government Concessions
- Prescription medicines listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) at the concessional rate
- At the discretion of the doctor, bulk-billed General Practitioner consultations
- An increase in benefits for out-of-pocket, out-of-hospital medical expenses above a certain threshold through the extended Medicare Safety Net.

The card does not give concessions to dependents. If you have dependants, you can ask Centrelink about a low income Health Care Card. Vehicle Registrations Vary from state to state. In Victoria you only pay for 6 months. In Queensland a 50% discount applies. Tasmania gives a $34.95 rebate on some vehicles with 100% rebate on vintage cars.
