The aim of the Vaios G. Malliaras (1907-1988) Clarinet Archives is to collate, restore and preserve all existing recordings of the Greek folklore artist who recorded over 500 clarinet tracks from 1934 to 1971. Rare recordings here offer a unique opportunity to musicological students worldwide at universities, colleges and institutions to hear the beautiful sound of a young clarinet artist in 1934 embarking on a cultural journey across the vast landscape of Greek Traditional Folk songs and dance traditions from southern Europe.
