Financial Literacy and Finding Relevant Information
Financial Literacy and Finding Relevant Information
.

On this website you can help yourself and your family by using the Financial tools and eWombat search system.

1.     Financial Literacy.  Gaining a better understanding of your financial position, cash flow and/or completing a budget are all ways to help you better understand and manage your money.  A better understanding also helps you and your Financial Planner work more closely together.

Your children and wider family also need to know their cash flow position so get them involved by pointing them to these tools as well.

2.    Finding relevant information is important to developing a better understanding of your needs and helps more when asking questions of others.  Google is great but when it comes to relevant information from Australia then eWombat is worth a try.

Of course eWombats move more slowly than Googles but they tend to bring back more relevant local information.

For example.  Keywords:  business tax break

Google’s Page 1 has 3 ATO and 7 not quite so relevant listings. Who goes to Page 2?

eWombat, on the other hand takes longer, but gives site tabs such as the ATO, Centrelink and State Revenue Offices and for these key words you get 20 listings from the ATO, Centrelink, ATO Law, ASIC, Federal Treasury and the ASX plus 10 from the RBA, Worksafe and the SRO NSW.  Plus 2 from SRO Qld.   More than less information, if it’s relevant, is always the better option.
