Update- US Energy Renaissance

Seriously, what is going on with the US?

It has an Outstanding Public Debt of over US$15.6 trillion but its technology companies are booming, its multinationals are extracting massive profits out of developing economies and now it is going about becoming the United States of Shale Gas.

Researchers are estimating that US today has over a 100 years of domestic gas supply to fuel its voracious appetite for energy.

IHS Global Insight predicts that the shale gas share of total US Natural Gas Production is expected to increase from 27% in 2010 to 60% by 2035.

Just imagine the economic benefits for the US if once again it can get access to cheap energy.

In Australia, coal seam gas exploration has become a major political and environment issue but it differs from shale gas in that it is found predominately on the surface between 600 to 1,000 metres while shale gas resources are found at greater depths of beyond 2,000 metres.
