Update- Market Metrics: US Stock Market

So where are we in the cycle? This is a key question that we keep being asked by clients.

Bond yields are at record lows and US shares are at back around their long term average price-earnings ratio while the Dow Jones Industrial Average at 13,194 points last night is only 6.8% away from its 9th October 2007 high of 14,164 points.

History and empirical evidence tells us that bull markets always follow bear markets and so the question is are we in a bull market and did it being in March 2009 or does the discounting need to get much bigger before the current bear market ends and the bull market beings?

At Newealth we are always looking to support and promote our clients wherever possible and if you have any ideas or comments, please feel free to email me via ‘Contact Us’ at www.newealth.com.au or to call me on +61 2 9267 2322.
