Update- I only want perfection

Should every parent’s primary goal be to raise happy children or successful ones?

Amy Chue, a Professor of Law at Yale University and a second generation Chinese-American has just published, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother (Bloomsbury) to address this question.

Amy argues that we can all produce violin-wielding math’s wizards if we just apply the pillars of Chinese parenting which are to relentlessly push your children towards success because a child cannot be trusted to do it on their own.

For example, if a child is permitted the freedom to pursue their passions then any normal child will end up spending 10 hours per day on Facebook.

Do you have to be cruel to be kind when it comes to raising children?
