What happens when the internet runs out of space?

Update- World Wide Web

Fascinating. How many of you are aware that we will actually run out of internet addresses by as early as July 2011?

The current internet addressing system is called IPv4 and can only hold 4.2 billion addresses while the replacement, IPv6 will be able to handle 340 billion addresses.

However, the issue according to Kevin Karp Director at IPv6Now is that... “The two systems (IPv4 and IPv6) are incompatible: they're like oil and water; they don't mix and can't talk”.

Very shortly there will be no new IPv4 addresses which will create challenges/risks for business but also opportunities.

At Newealth we are always looking to support and promote our clients wherever possible and if you have any ideas or comments, please feel free to email me via ‘Contact Us’ at www.newealth.com.au or to call me on +61 2 9267 2322.
