With a Financial Power of Attorney you can nominate the person of your choice to look after your affairs. It is also wise to make a Medical Power of Attorney to allow the person of your choice to make medical decisions on your behalf. Otherwise another person or a government/trustee agency may be appointed to supervise your affairs.
Even if you have a Will or Power of Attorney this should be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure it accords with your current intentions.
