Alan is the owner and principal of Alan Boyd & Associates. He started his public practice journey way back in 1990 on a part time basis whilst working in a senior commercial management role in an Australian public company. He left the corporate world in 1995 and devoted his full attention to providing a simple, friendly and technically skilled accounting and taxation solution in Berwick.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting as well as a number of Certificates and competencies. He is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. His knowledge of accounting and taxation matters is extensive and his passion for providing cost effective solutions and first class technical advice are obvious.

As well as personal and business taxation solutions, Alan has a passion for self managed superannuation funds and helps many clients with running their funds. He prides the firm on being a one stop accounting and taxation shop for individuals, small businesses, investors and SMSF’s.

Alan has three adult children, Matt who is married to Skye and works in the IT industry, Rachael who is a travel consultant, and Ben who is also in the IT industry and has his own computer game development business with his partner Paulina.

Outside of the office Alan has a busy life. He is a CFA volunteer firefighter with over 40 years experience and is a former Captain of the Berwick Fire Brigade. He is also a keen amateur landscaper photographer and some of his works can be seen on the office walls. Alan also loves travel and if he’s not in the office or out fighting fires the chances are he could be hanging out of a helicopter photographing saltworks in Namibia or dodging killer waves capturing mini icebergs near the shores in Iceland.

Nicola has been with Alan Boyd & Associates Pty Ltd since 2007 and has a keen interest in public practice accounting and taxation. Prior to joining the firm Nicola had accounting roles in major retail and corporate entities.

Nicola holds a Bachelor of Business and Commerce, majoring in Accounting. She is also a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).

In her time with the firm Nicola has gained a broad knowledge of accounting and taxation matters and understands business operations and needs. She is very experienced with the major accounting software programs, including Xero, MYOB, Reckon, Quickbooks and Cashflow Manager.

Nicola enjoys working closely with the firm’s business clients to achieve their goals. For many she is the goto person for their day to day accounting and taxation queries.

Outside of the office Nicola and her husband Simon spend many enjoyable hours following and supporting their children’s activities. Lachlan is a keen cricketer and plays for both the Victorian and Australian I.D. teams, Brooke is an aspiring dancer/performer, and Emily a keen footballer with the local Berwick Junior Football Club.

Any free time Nicola has is also spent at the local gym enjoying group fitness classes.

Janice has been a member of the team at Alan Boyd & Associates Pty Ltd since 2007 and job shares the reception and administration roles with Nicole.

Janice has a Cert IV in Accounting and a long period of experience in the banking sector. She has always enjoyed working in the banking and finance industry. Janice also holds a Cert IV in Disability Support. Janice always thrives to achieve great customer service and make client’s interactions with the firm enjoyable.

Prior to joining the firm, Janice operated her own business in the tourism industry for 5 years. For many years has also been on the board of directors of her local Bendigo Community Bank.

Janice and her husband Ken have three adult children. Kane is a motion graphics animation artist, Darcy is a plumber and project manager, and Miranda is in the Australia Air Force.

Walking along the beach with her dog Bella is one of the ways Janice relaxes. She also ventures off on as many holidays as she can fit into her busy timetable.

With over 10 years experience in administration and customer service, Nicole has been with Alan Boyd & Associates Pty Ltd since 2015 and shares the reception and administration functions with Janice.

Nicole has a passion for creating great customer service experiences with a friendly and caring approach. Nicole has had previous experience in the finance department of a major retail company and in her current role she enjoys learning more about finance and taxation.

Nicole and her husband Grant have two school aged children, Isabelle and Jacob, who keep them busy with sports and extra curricular activities.

In the spare time that she does have, Nicole enjoys reading a good book and going to the football – the whole family are very passionate Essendon supporters.
